TECHNOLOGY

Medium pressure UV systems are mostly used in wastewater treatment for disinfection and organic matter decom position. When used with hydrogen peroxide, UV light can enhance the formation of hydroxyl radicals (OH ),a powerful oxidizing agent. Usinghydroxyl oxidation instead of chlorine,results in the decomposition of organic matter into CO 2 gas and H20, rather than harmful byproducts.
